SCOPE OF THE CONFERENCE
This conference is to provide an open forum for
experts around the world to exchange information and to thoroughly
discuss topics related to design, analysis, testing, manufacturing,
construction of modern bamboo structures. The final product of the
conference will be the proceedings that intend to provide a
state-of-the-art document on modern bamboo structures.
Major support to the conference is kindly provided by
the Hunan University through the Cheung Kong Scholarship.

March 23, 2007 To the global bamboo
community;
We deeply regret to inform you that the
VIII World Bamboo Congress scheduled for November 13-18, 2007 , hosted
by EBIOBAMBU and WBO in Rio de Janeiro, Brasil has been cancelled. Due
to an unstable political environment and its impact on the financial and
business community, necessary funding sources have not been secured and
have forced the organizers to make this difficult decision. Please
monitor our website for an upcoming announcement of a new venue and date
for the VIII WBC.
