Hi all,

we have a well established buddha but we're a little concerned about this years shoots as we haven't seen them as exposed as this before, should we throw some mulch or soil around the clump or will it be OK ?

well then, looks like we've answered this ourselves, according to Bamboo Rediscovered by Victor Cusack eventually, well established clumps will need mulching to cover the exposed shoots, this is especially prevalent on hillside plantations.

You learn something every day :)
